I don't know if my information will help or not, but the Creative Arena headset, which is this one ( ) works fine in Windows 8.1, but all these other new headsets I'm about to buy a new once because I love the headset so much, and will have to buy it from some independent seller on Amazon or something because it's no longer manufactured. The ear piece is damaged, but the headset is I have the mic set up at around 50% and I am heard perfectly fine. Here's the thing though, my damaged headset, which is the Creative Sound Blaster Arena Surround gaming headset, it works fine in Windows 8.1. My 3rd trip exchanging the G930 for a Plantronics 788, which I use now, but I still have to have the mic at 90-95% and raise my voice to be heard. Both set up at 90-95% and I had to raise my voice to even be heard by customers. So I went to Best Buy an hour away and keep in mind I made 3 trips until I gave up. I can't stand damaged goods, even if they still work. My headset eventually messed up by the ear piece cracking after having it for 3 years. On windows 7, I could keep my mic at 40-50 and be heard perfectly fine without raising my voice. I plugged in my headset and had to boost the mic to 90-95 to evenīe heard by customers. It was going to take a few days to get replacement parts so I went and bought a laptop that came with windows 8.1.
